Luxury 4 Bedroom Vacation Villa with Pacific Ocean View
Géminis del Pacífico is a proud member of ASCOMOTI (see below) who has joined forces with the Corcovado Foundation to help preserve and improve the natural habitats of some of the most endangered species in Costa Rica. They give the following tips to be a Responsible Tourist:
Please, Don't feed the Wildlife: You might find feeding the wildlife to be a fascinating experience. You probably think that they need to be fed. But the truth is that you are actually harming them:
ASCOMOTI is our organization (we are members) that works to help save the mono tití's habitat and to educate the local school children in living with their environment . We are building a tree corridor to connect the two remaining major habitats of the Mono tití. A number of local schools participate with us in teaching the students (by our forestry engineer) how to grow and care for trees necessary for the diet of the mono tití. These saplings are then purchased by us (the funds go for much needed school supplies at each local school participating) and are planted in the biological corridor that we are creating to help the genetic mix of these two major habitats of the remaining mono titís. Please help us in supporting this great organization.
Géminis del Pacífico is also proud to support monkey bridges
(blue ropes suspended across roads) so the endangered and beloved mono tití's
can cross roads without having to go down to the dangerous and unprotected ground.
It also keeps the monkeys in the area from using the dangerous electric lines
to cross the road.
These bridges are provided by the organization of kids
saving the rain forest. Please visit their site and help this very
endangered species survive.
